Although Embassy operations have been suspended, as Special Envoy Ambassador Fisher has stated:  “The United States will not be deterred from its commitment to helping advance democracy and human rights in Belarus and to supporting the aspirations of the Belarusian people to build a more promising future in a free and independent Belarus, nor will these recent measures cause us to abandon the outreach and engagement that have benefitted the Belarusian people and which have advanced the relations between our citizens.”  We will therefore continue to provide information on our outreach and engagement efforts on this website.

One of U.S. Embassy Minsk’s chief priorities is to advance America’s prosperity and security by improving the bilateral economic relationship with Belarus.  The Embassy pursues this priority by:

  • supporting U.S. businesses operating in Belarus;
  • encouraging U.S. businesses to increase exports to Belarus;
  • boosting U.S. investment in Belarus;
  • fostering good governance through economic transparency and accountability; and
  • promoting inclusive economic growth and prosperity.

The Embassy regularly engages with U.S. and Belarusian partners on issues of trade, finance, intellectual property rights, transportation, energy, and commercial opportunities.  Our goal is to ensure the United States remains the world’s strongest and most dynamic economy, as well as a beacon for American values.

These efforts are paying off – and helping to change the way America does business. Now more than at any time in our history, Americans are selling more U.S. goods and services to the 95 percent of consumers who live outside of our borders.
