On May 3, 2018, Charge d ’Affairs Robert Riley shared diplomatic career insights and foreign policy challenges with a jam-packed audience of over 160 faculty members and students from the International Relations Department at Belarusian State University (BSU). The Charge’s visit, his second to BSU, was initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and arranged by the Public Affairs Section. During his remarks, Mr.Riley emphasized the importance of life-long education, personal leadership, professional ethics, and critical thinking. Afterwards, the students posed questions about U.S. foreign policy priorities and challenges, U.S. – Belarus bilateral relations, and about the Charge’s impressions of Belarus and its people. The event was designed to promote better understanding of U.S. foreign policy both among the faculty and among the future leaders of Belarus.
