U.S.-Belarus Business Briefing

The U.S. Embassy in Minsk, in conjunction with the Foreign Commercial Service Office at the U.S. Embassy Moscow and close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, hosted a “Business Briefing” for twelve U.S. companies working in the region to look at opportunities to expand business ties in Belarus.

The delegation met with First Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhnevich, representatives of the National Agency of Investment and Privatization, and the National Bank of Belarus.  The Business Briefing provided an opportunity for U.S. companies to meet with potential Belarusian partners, as well.

In his opening remarks, Chargé d’affaires Scott Rauland noted that the U.S. Government supports the expansion of trade and investment between the U.S. and Belarus and announced that in support of those efforts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has approved the addition of an economic officer for the U.S. Embassy in Minsk.
