Charge d’affaires Jenifer Moore participated in a commemoration, related to the 75th anniversary of the destruction of the Minsk ghetto

Charge d’affaires Jenifer Moore participated in a commemoration, related to the 75th anniversary of the destruction of the Minsk ghetto, at the Yama memorial in Minsk today. October 21-23 in 1943 were the last of the deadly 825 days for 100,000 ghetto prisoners, those local and European Jews who had gone through immense tragedies and showed incredible heroism in the ghetto. Very few of the ghetto prisoners survived. The CDA paid tribute to their memories and laid flowers at the Yama memorial, which remains the strongest symbol of the Holocaust and of the Minsk ghetto, one of the largest in Europe. The CDA joined senior representatives of the Belarusian, Israeli and European governments, her colleagues from the diplomatic community, ghetto and concentration camps survivors, members of the Jewish organizations and communities from across Belarus at the memorial ceremony today.
