Embassy Minsk is reaching out to American citizens in Belarus to ascertain their plans for returning to the United States or remaining in Belarus. If you are an American citizen in Belarus, please contact us at ConsularMinsk@state.gov to let us know if you plan to remain in Belarus for the foreseeable future or if you are actively seeking to return to the United States.
Due to the global COVID-19 outbreak, air connections from Minsk to the United States are becoming increasingly limited. Although there are still daily flights available from Minsk to the United States via Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris, and London, it is not clear how much longer these options will be available. U.S. Citizens currently in Belarus who wish to return to the United States should arrange for immediate departure, unless they are prepared to remain in Belarus for an indefinite period.
Please note that because of public health measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 the U.S. Embassy in Minsk has suspended routine services. We are only accepting emergency appointment requests for those who need travel documents for immediate departure. If you plan to depart Belarus immediately and need a passport, please contact the U.S. Embassy in Minsk at ConsularMinsk@State.gov If you do not intend to travel to the United States right away, we ask that you defer your passport or CRBA applications until we are able to resume routine services.
We apologize for the hardship and inconvenience that this may cause, but we ask for your understanding and cooperation in helping to protect the health of our U.S. citizen and global community. We will resume routine services as soon as we are able, but unfortunately, we cannot predict when this will be. For more information, please see the COVID-19 page on our Embassy website.
