U.S. Embassy Supported Project Opens New Opportunities for the Visually Disabled

On June 4, the Belarusian Union of the Visually Impaired conducted its final conference, which focused on the results of a project supported by the Embassy’s Small Grants Program, “Promoting New Information Resources as a Means of Creating Barrier-Free Environment for the Visually Handicapped. ” The event took place in the IBB Johannes Rau Center. Among the activities showcased by the NGO were these two: its new internet radio, which has a full spectrum of interesting programs for any taste, as well as its information resource center where any customer can request copies of printed materials in Braille and an audio format and get them in the shortest time possible.
