USG supports Belarus’ ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic

The United States Government, through USAID, has committed an additional $450,000 to support Belarus’ ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

These funds are in addition to the almost $1.3 million in U.S. government funds previously contributed to Belarus’ pandemic response, bringing the total provided to $1.7 million.

This assistance will continue facilitating risk communication and community engagement activities and providing critical hygiene and medical supplies for health facilities. USAID funds will also support mitigating the secondary effects of the pandemic by supporting medical and technical experts for COVID-19 response and preparedness, psycho-social care to front-line workers, public information campaigns and other activities.

This new assistance comes on top of decades of U.S. investment in Belarus, totaling more than $301 million over the past 20 years.
